Hie
I am doing this project on the use of photosensitiser to eradicate tumour cells.
Initially i will turn normal cells into tumour cells, in laboratory mice, then inject the sensitiser, wait a few days/weeks, with the hope only tumour cells selectively absorb the chemical, expose the mice to red/far-red light, then watch and observe1
Tell me how does this sound? As yet i havent thought of the variables to investigate their effects.

what are your contorls in this experiments ? How are you getting the sensitiser only in tumorcells ? That will be a major step forward where many scientist are stuck on. And does it work for all types of cancer or are you only inverstigating the virus-induced cancers. And because there are many types of viruses which can cause many different types of cancers (probably with different receptors sets/different targets in signal transduction and so on), how are you going to take this into account ?
Sounds like this is way oversimplified.
I think the hardest step in your investigation would be the specifically targetting of the tumorcells.

I think I’ve read in the National Geographic Magazine june edition about Nanotechnology and it said that (I dunno whether it’s theorically or reality) the substance will be absorbed by all cells, but, when photosensitiser is run to those cells, only tumor cells which will be affected.
I dunno how’s the mechanism but I can think that this substances will bind with some receptors which are only located in tumor cells and become activated when it absorb infrared wavelength..
Please read the magazine for further info or visit

and for another method, please visit this. It’s still inside this site, so you don’t have to travel far 😆

Thanks guys for the support.
It so unfortunate, earlier on i had typed in some stuff in response to all these suggestions and views but then i dont know how my page got to refresh clearing all the work i had typed.
I will re-do that pretty soon.
