are arteries larger than veines? i would say not since vienes are said to accumulate volume..

Arteries are larger than veins, except for the renal artery. Since the blood in the arteries is freshly pumped, there would be a higher pressure in them, except that they are larger. Veins need to be smaller, to increase pressure as they are bringing the blood back to the heart.
