Can someone help make this clear please:
When you perform a t-test when do you accept the alternate hypothesis? Is t test bigger than the value of your t-test or vice vera? What about the chi squared test? When do you accept the alternate is it when your value for chi squared is bigger or larger than crit?

If t-statistic (your t) is larger then t-critical there is a difference.
If chi square-statistic (your chi) is smaller then chi square -critical the categories are independent.
