Is transpiration caused by the diffusion of water vapours from inside the leaves to the air surrounding them?
Also, as you all know, the greater the difference in concentration, the faster the rate of diffusion. So is it because of this reason that transpiration is quickest in hot, dry windy conditions? (In hot, dry, windy conditions, the concentration of water vapours in the air is VERY LOW)
I hope these questions make sense to you 😉 Any answers to these questions will be much appreciated! - March 21, 2007 at 12:40 am #70309Dr.SteinParticipant

**ANNOUNCEMENT**
I just DO NOT care if any of you delete my post anymore or quite simply, disabling my account. Let’s be frank, how many people in this forum feel that they have been verbally abused in the past by people who quite honestly do not know what they are talking about? Also, how many people IN THIS FORUM are now actually SCARED to ask "stupid question" (according to some people in this forum, we do not have the right to ask "stupid question". ) 2 warnings for nothing – so what? Those warnings were not fair. Furthermore, I really do not think anyone in this forum should criticise what other people do with their own account (that includes "sig", the very annoying "ads" according to Dr.Stein thank you very much). Honestly, if you are that obsessed with making comments on people then I think you should make FRIENDS with Simon Cowell!
