Hi! I am working on a biology assignment with multiple choice questions. They’re are three questions relating to viruses and antibodies, etc, i can’t get. Any help is appreciated!

Which of the following would give only a short term immunity?
A-inherting immunity
B-injection containing antibodies
C-vaccination
D-having the disease
E-having the disease in a weakened form

AND

People are able to catch a second cold soon after recovering from a previous one because:
A-they are weak form fighitng the first infection
B-memory cells are not produced for a cold virus, so there are few antibodies ready for the second infection
C-there is no vaccine for the common cold
D-there are many different cold viruses, each requiring seperate antibodies
E-the virus has formed a resistance to the body’s natural defense mechanisms

Sea water in relation to cytoplasm of a land organism is said to be:
A- mesotnic
B- hypertonic
C- hypotonic
D- isotonic
E- suptertonic

i try to answer it using my opinion:

Q1 : i think the answer is b because antibody cell is not long term life cell. after all the agent that cause the ill get killed, the antibody cell will disapear for body and only memory cell still remain.

Q2 : maybe i not agree with all the choises. influenza virus easy to change of their genetic and it called it genetic variation. int change their H or N or both. so that why u can get 2nd cold because the action of antibody are specific.

Q3 : nothing in my mind to guess. huhuhuhuhhuhu…… i try to think later.

so, anybody please correct me if i’m wrong. thanks…..aligato…. 🙂

he he.. Im really not sure if I will post the answers. Im pretty sure I can answer them all, but I think you have to read a bit and not rely on us to do the homework for you, try posting your answers here and I’ll gladly correct them for you. You have to try at least to answer the questions; who knows you may not need our advice after all!!
