Owls have a pretty flexible neck
- July 12, 2005 at 3:42 pm #26583chemistry_freakoParticipant
hmms guess the answer to this question seems quite subjective too – and depends on which type of flexibility is discussed?
- July 12, 2005 at 3:53 pm #26585JamesParticipant
Good point; cockroaches are pretty flexible to their situation, even nuclear war 😮 .

I would have to say worms are the most flexible. I saw parasitic worms on a TV show that could tie themselves in knots in their hosts stomach.

I mean what animal is most flexible tha thas a bone structure. I should have been more specific. It is obviously easier to be flexible without one. I am intrerested in the collagenated or simmilar atributes that allow for flexibility in animals. Its a subject close to my heart since I have hypermobility type Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I was curious if there are any manifestations in animals that make them abnormaly flexible considering thier skeletal structure.
- July 14, 2005 at 12:19 pm #26669victorParticipant
Well, for the skeletal one…cartilagenous fish then… 😆
- July 14, 2005 at 9:02 pm #26701b_d_41501Participant

I agree with b_d_41501. Snakes are pretty flexible. They swallow their prey whole, right? They don’t immediately digest the whole stuff in just one sitting (unless the prey is very small). If the prey is very big, they keep it in them for weeks, months……..So yeah, I’ll go with the snake. 😉
- July 21, 2005 at 10:26 am #27103opuntiaParticipant
Me too… it’s snakes.they are the most flexible creatures i’ve ever heard of …they swallow their whole and it takes about one hour hour for them to do that but it depends on the size of their prey…and also, they can go on for months without eating but it depends on the last feast they’ve had…did you know that they are sort of cannibal…i mean the bigger ones feast on the smaller ones.
- July 21, 2005 at 7:47 pm #27153MrMisteryParticipant
